About me

I am just a simple girl that married a farmer very young in life.  I have learned so much about life living here on the farm, and continue to learn everyday.  My farmer and I have raised two boys here, and are now buying the farm from his parents.  His family came to this valley in 1911 and he is the fourth generation of the family to farm this land, something we are very proud of.  I was not raised on a farm, but was raised around animals and lived in the country.  Farming life, I soon learned, is a very different way of life.  It took a little adjustment, but I have come to love what we do, and try not to take anything for granted.  I am very grateful to my farmer for picking me to share this life with him.  There are days that are not the best, and on those days I do wonder what I'm doing here, but those days are few and far between, and the good days totally out weight those bad days.

My goal with this blog is to give a glimpse into what it's like to live on a farm/ranch. I also would like to share a little agriculture knowledge to people out there that do not know a lot about our business.   I have been an advocate for Agriculture for some time now.  Years ago, I took an Ag in the Classroom workshop and this gave me the added push I needed to help spread the word about agriculture and how it affects our everyday life.  I wanted to share it!  I started going to the classrooms and talking about agriculture and absolutely love it!  We have also hosted classroom tours on our farm, showing the kids how to dig potatoes out of the field or giving them a wagon ride through the cows.  The kids love coming out to a real farm, and we love sharing it with them.

So here I am Livin' the life, the farm life that is, and I invite you to come along for the ride.
